I’m Anna, I am an avid outdoorswoman who makes a living (a meager living) promoting emory oak preservation. The Emory Oak is a species of Oak native to Arizona and northern Mexico. It grows in dry climates at moderate altitudes. It is an evergreen in the red oak family. It produces little acorns eaten by mammals and birds.
While I started this blog during my research specifically on the Emory Oak, I’m going to use it now to simply chronicle some of my favorite hikes in the Midwest area.
I’ve been working to develop a mobile app for hiking and trekking so this is an opportunity for me to start gathering the content while I work out the logistics behind the scenes. The limitations I am seeing so far are that many of these hikes can be pretty remove meaning map functions would likely not work – we could do some sort of saved map that can be downloaded prior to the trip, but this will murder battery life.
We’ve got some kinks to work out!
